from 254 pounds to 201 pounds all because I eat right

Many people have been asking why and how I am losing weight. So I’ll tell you. Most of you guys saw me for the 1st time in the documentary. Well that was the heaviest I have ever been. 254 pounds. You see, I just got done sitting at a computer for 2 and a half months editing up two NASCAR reality TV shows. I went and spent tons of money following around two drivers in the NASCAR races with a crew of 6 people that I hired to shoot it. It was so much fun. I got to go on the tracks, in the pits, and see NASCAR first-hand. When I was done I had to go home and edit the 2 shows to pitch to networks to be sold. Now when I was home it was junk food and mochas all day to keep me awake as I sat there for 15 hours a day for 2 and a half months. That adds weight real fast on a person.

Fast forward to 5 months ago. That’s about the time I took sugars out of my everyday routine. No more mochas just black coffee. Instead of ice cream I went to yogurt. Instead of candy I went to fruit. I think u see the pattern here. Not only taking away the sugars but also making the portions of food I eat smaller. I learned something while being over seas shooting. They eat what they need to and don’t over eat. Here in the USA its all huge portions and tons of chemicals in the food. When I had pizza in italy there wasn’t much but sauce cheese and thin bread. The sauce was amazing because there was no added flavoring and stuff like that. As soon as I got to back to the states the food seemed gross. It took me a long time to get back to eating it.

This is when I decided to make what I eat 5 days out of the week. 2 of the days I grub what ever but I always tend to still eat good. I have a peace of candy here and there but not much anymore. But the key to this is less portions. Don’t eat to be full. U can always snack later on nuts or fruit. Instead of eating the whole burger eat ¾ of it. No fries, do a salad. Or mashed potatoes. Fried food will kill you. BUT the main thing I gave up was fast food 4 years ago and it took 2 years for me to feel the healthiness of not eating it.

For some reason corn will destroy my stomach and I cant eat it. Corn is hard to digest and I just stay away from it. I can have corn syrup oddly enough but not to much. This proves that corn is in so much crap. I haven’t been eating tortilla chips like Doritos for a long time. I only eat kettle chips. You see taking all this crap out of your diet is the key. I really don’t work out that much except for swimming. I hate lifting weights. Its just not my thing. Once or twice a month I’ll lift then realize I hate it.

Another key thing is don’t eat heavy meals past 7pm. Your body slows down at night and takes longer to digest it. also when you sleep it just sits in your stomach all night. Eat soft and easy to digest food late night. Cereal is the best for that. If you cant eat until then, then eat extra before work or whatever. You have to be able to discipline our self and don’t give in. Also take your vitamins. That helps your body really use the food you eat for the right things.

If I’m starving on the road and all there is is a gas station that’s fine. I get nuts and cereal and yogurt and a banana and mix it up and eat it. you can always find the healthier rout in life anywhere. Im now 201 in weight and feeling great. I lost all the extra weight I don’t need and now feel so healthy. You just have to have the will and there is always a way. You can only let your self down. So do your self a favor and don’t let it down. Think about how a 100 years ago there was just simple food from a garden. Now we put chemicals in it and the FDA is killing us. Please do me a favor and stop eating fast food. Its enough to make you feel 100 times better everyday. Watch fast food nation or that documentary about eating fast food for 30 days. Its not all correct but it will show you what I’m talking about on how fast food will kill you. they say you should only eat fast food 5 times a year. Think about that when your to lazy to cook. I would love to see more healthy people, but we just give in to food on the go. I used to eat all that, but now I put a stop to it in my life.

I’m not the guy who knows everything and I’m still learning but that’s the best way for me right now. Find your best way and make a change in life. It starts with you and you only. Its true you know, when they say you are what you eat. I love cashews so that’s why I’m such a nut. lol

Try eating an apple and then drink an 8 oz glass of water to feel full. That trick helps too. The sugar craving with me is also satisfied by eating a fruit such as apple or pear. Keep up the great work! You look AMAZING! ~~~~Marie

Thank you for sharing your advice on how you lost your weight. I honestly agree with your views on fast foods and all the chemicals in the U.S. diet. I’m originally from Slovakia, and I grew up on fresh vegetables & fruits from the garden, as well as home cooked meals. I used to stay at a healthy range of 105 lbs – 115 lbs, but I slowly gained an extra 13 lbs. This is not a surprise since I’m completely addicted to eating pizza nearly once a week. I also started eating more fried foods that have high fat and sugar. I can recognize that it’s unhealthy and quite disgusting (especially to the body), but it’s seriously addicting. I REALLY want to stop this fried food/pizza addiction so that I can move into healthier eating habits. I will try to do it your way. Perhaps it simply takes one step at a time to get there Wish me luck, I’m hoping to lose those 13 lbs lol.

Hi Aaron,

I know what you mean about the food in USA as I am originally from Australia – when I immigrated here 2 years ago I couldn’t believe how bad it was. I have also experienced the natural healthy food of Italy.

Having said this, this mean in case you desire to be healthy, you desire to deprive yourself of the sweet sensation for all your day-to-day
lives. Then it is moved to huge tanks and heated again to evaporate the
water content. Yacon has been shown to be an incredibly effective supplement
that you can use to help you treat or prevent many types of ailments,
or to just help your body continue to function at its absolute
best, which is extremely important in this day and age.

Hi there this is kinda of off topic but I was wanting to know if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or
if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding know-how so I wanted to

Dear Aaron. First let me say that I watch Ghost Adventures religiously. You absolutely rock but what an inspiration you are. I wish I had read your posting before I got my surgery although I have lost 40 pounds. You make so much sense with how you’ve changed your eating lifestyle. You are also good sport for putting up with Zack.

Hi Aaron! The more I learn about you the more interesting you get! It’s so nice to see you being so open with the things that have taken place in your life, not all guys are good at that 🙂 It sounds like you have made some great changes to your body through what you put in it (and what you don’t). I am asking you to please take a look at these products that I have been using for a number of months now. They are based around natural ingredients and feeding the body with all the proper nutrients. And the company is very aggressive on the fact that our food supplies are contaminated with all kinds of unnatural chemicals and growth hormones etc. I would love to have you contact me for more information. And next time you are out visiting Nick I would love to meet with both of you, I live only a couple towns away from him. I hope you check this out, I think it is something you will appreciate 🙂

Wow, superb weblog layout! How long have you ever been running a blog for? you made running a blog look easy. The overall look of your web site is magnificent, let alone the content material!

Dan, I hope you see this. Instead of going to artificially sweetened Pepsi, cut down the amount. Fill in with tea–and here’s what I did that dropped almost 20 lbs right off the bat. I used to mix my Snapple lemon iced tea with water, half and half. The straight stuff killed my stomach! Then I started adding more water, twice as much as tea…and then I dropped it some more, so the tea is pretty dilute. Drank that for a few months, realized I felt better, and diluted it more, to as weak as I could drink it and still enjoy it. Then…I went to straight water, and lots of it. About a gallon a day. And, at the same time, I made it a point to get out and move for half an hour, an hour, just working around my place, nothing particularly vigorous. (Knowing truck stops, you could do the same just by parking down at the end and walking briskly, LOL). Choose better foods, and less of them. Change comes slowly, and it’s not easy. Stick with it, and hopefully you won’t wind up diabetic, like I did. I changed too late, and after the diagnosis.

Good luck!

And Aaron, you ROCK!! 🙂

Thnaks for the tips, glad your feeling healthier…one thing people also maynot realize is that to cut back sugars which is vary important becuase you burn sugar easir than fat so any sugar you take in including ANY type of aclcoholic beverages make you no burn any fat you burn off the sugars first so as you said ” everything in modration” but especially sugar containing product.

Hey thanks for sharing your inspiring story! I too, have lost 50lbs by cutting out anything with added sugar. I also stopped eating any kind of bread. I loved bread and used to end up eating about 5-6 slices over the course of a day. I cut it out(and other wheat products) cold turkey with no problem and the weight was flying off of me, 5-7lbs a week! The best thing I did was start eating way more frequently throughout the day, like every hour I would have a few bites of protein and a couple of mouthfull’s of salad, yogurt, nuts, anything healthy and unprocessed. I used to get up and go and not eat until after lunchtime. I feel so much healthier now. Never counted a calorie or weighed a piece of chicken on my wieghtloss journey, and not once was I hungry. It is so easy to loose weight, anybody can do it, but these weightloss places make people believe that they need some type of outside help,$$$$$, when they don’t. Once the light switch went on, it was so simple.

Thankyou so much for posting this! I’m also in the process of losing a lot of excess weight (yes, some of it baby fat after having my boys) but a larger part of it is simply down to not eating right and not exercising. I do aquarobics twice a week now and my husband and I are on a stricter diet together – it makes all the difference! I can highly recommend being two people on a diet. When one person starts to lose their willpower, the other can step in and encourage them. You keep each other on the right tracks. I have so far lost 4kgs and have another 11kgs to go before I hit my idea bodyweight, but I can already feel the difference in myself. The better you feel, the better you look… the better you look, the better you feel. It’s a win-win situation! We’ve also started to grow our own veg, seeing as we already have two apple trees, three elder trees, rhubarb, strawberries and herbs. Now we have potatoes, carrots, onions, spring onions, peas, peppers and tomatos and it’s so easy to be out in the garden working 🙂 you get hungry? Grab an apple off the tree.

Your story is really inspiring Aaron and you look incredible for all your hard work and self-discipline. It’s simple advice and although it is so easy to reason through, it’s always nice to get that advice from someone who has done what you’ve done and can say “it CAN be be achieved – you just have to believe”

Bless you
Em

Aaron, that’s perfect! So simple and common sense…but many lack that way of thinking with all the confusion over dieting we’re all trying to be sold on. Anyway thank you for sharing your story….I gotta get back to the TV — Ghost Adventures is on “Rose HIll” episode again….but thats okay maybe I should just go for a walk ! by the way….Thank you also for all the beatiful pictures you share on Facebook. Your story is awesome. I know all too well what a desk job vs physical job can do to a body. I have lost over 50lbs in the post but since taking my office job 7 months ago i gained most of it back. 🙁 Been struggling to get back on the band wagon but like you said its all about portion sizes and being sure you eat relatively healthy. My dog helps with the walking thing. He becomes an asshole when he doesn’t get his daily mile walk lol

Very inspiring read, Aaron. I commend you for having the self discipline that so many lack, and in turn their children are becoming obese. I have 5 kids and none are overweight because we don’t eat fast food often, it’s a once in a while treat. I get water, healthy juices and rarely get sodas and when I do they are allowed only one per day. I cut out sodas during the day and drink water and have maybe one or two Cokes. I have already lost 15 lbs doing just that, so if I can do it anyone can…my family are big fans of Ghost Adventures and you’re our favorite, and your healthy transition is very inspiring and my kids really do look up to you in that regard. Keep up the good work!

I’m hoping I can get back into shape. Almost a year ago I had lost 60lbs and was very happy and healthy. And then boom I was involved in a car accident. I wasn’t seriously injured but did suffer a chest contusion. That along with the stress of dealing with all the bs after the accident I gained it all back. I feel terrible now I have trouble breathing and doing regular activities. So I can say that I know how you feel I want to feel that way again.

Aaron,
This is so wonderful of you! I knew from looking at you that you were doing something right. I too don’t eat fast food, never have really except on the road, which I stopped a few years ago. And your right, it does take a long time to fully recover from all that stuff. I will buy fruit and veggies and nuts for the road instead. I love to make alot of my own dried fruits because then I know they weren’t pre-made in chemicals I don’t like. Hey you say you eat kettle chips? Well I eat a sea salt flavored chip called “Veggie Straws” they are awesome! And so are sweet potatoe chips. coconut water with peach and mango is another great thing to drink, its got no added preservatives and has tons of Potassium in it. I love the Coconut Water after working out at the gym. Of course for some, these items I mentioned do require your taste buds getting use to them for a few days or so but once you do, they are great to eat and drink and you always feel better afterwards and esp. in the fact that your not eating bad. And just so you know, swimming according to alot of people is a total workout that doesn’t require alot of different machines or weights so your in more shape that way than me (who goes to the gym 5 days a week for atleast 2 hours. ) Great Job Aaron, so proud of you! I love to hear stories like yours, makes me smile within and keeps me inspired to do the same. 🙂

Yep, I learned the same way 4 years ago. I was 165 and now I am 130. I did the same thing Aaron. Small Portions! Cut out soda! I had braces back then, so some foods were out of the question. It helped me lose the weight too. I use exercising videos at home to also keep my weight at a good level. My lowest weight was 119 but that wasn’t good because people kept asking if I was sick. I got up to 130 and love this size and plan to keep it. 🙂

Aaron your such a great loving person. You look great!

Thank you Aaron for the good advice, I am right now trying to lose weight to make myself healthier, but I really don’t have a support group on it, my bf told me that I need to lose weight so I can be healthier but he aint helping me with the diet and the portion sizing, all he does is complain that I eat too much and I have big portions during supper, don’t get me wrong I love my country fried cooking but I also know its bad for u, I just cant get away from potatos, I have also tried not to go out to eat but the bf and his dad are always wanting to go out to eat and they knw I cant have it and it seems they don’t care at all that I am on a diet, I try and get a grilled chicken wrap and I get lectured saying there is more calories in that then a quarter pounder but ik there is not a lot of calories in a grilled chicken wrap bc there is no grease in it but I have tried to eat fruit in the house but I never get a chance to eat any of it bc my bf and his dad think they need to eat it and as for nuts I cant have them bc I am allergic to them, idk what to do I have been walking everyday and taking hydroxy cut max pills to help me also

Aaron, so glad the changes you’ve made to your diet have made you healthy and happy. Those little changes can make a huge difference in our health and wellness. I have always been a quantity eater. I know what it’s like to be so stuffed after a meal that it’s uncomfortable. To me, that was normal. Within this last year I have reduced my portion sizes, eat until I am 80% full, and concentrate on eating fruits, vegetables, while grains and lean proteins and the pounds are melting away.

When you reduce the sugars, starches and fried foods from your eating plan you no longer crave the “bad” foods. When you eat the foods that fuel your body with the vitamins and nutrients it craves from more wholesome foods your body will thank you. Eat to fuel your body. You wouldn’t put bad gas in your vehicle because it wouldn’t run smoothly. Think the same way about the foods you put into your body. You will be rewarded with increased energy, a better digestive system, increased metabolism, and a healthier body.

So proud of you. You didn’t talk about high blood pressure or diabetes.
My brother is overweight, high BP and diabetes.
He eats fried food and fast food.
It is so hard to ignore fast food. Especially
growing up with fast food. I am taking
Zumba classes. And I had two kids.
Love your show

hey man keep it up, i have learned so much recently and have pulled a 180′ . I use to stop all the time at a fast foods drive through, not anymore. I have been eating fruits, vegetables and nuts. I do leave myself a day in the week to cheat and eat something not as healthy but dont always cheat each week. i have been losing some weight myself,,, was up to 314 just last october, now 275 and feeling so much better. I wish people would stay away from all that crap processed foods and all the fast foods that are just so bad for you. Best of luck to anyone that tries to change their eating habits to be healthier. That is why i changed mine, i am 36 and just want to be healthy. It is very hard to adjust, when i drive by a fast food chain, I’ll say to myself,l man that is disgusting.

Let me tell everyone: Aaron KNOWS what he’s talking about!!! It’s absolutely TRUE- the fast food and sugars will make you so fat, give you more med/health problems than you can count, and KILL you. I know, because I followed this dietary advice a year ago and it worked like a charm. I didn’t even exercise and went from size 14 to a size 6, my original dress size before babies, pain killers, candy binges—u get the picture I am sure. My back pain went away, my inflamed stomach condition left, I could run up the stairs, play with my german shepherd, walk for miles! Unfortunately, I hit a depression patch; I went back to binging on fast food, ice cream, fries, and all junk in general. Returning to terrible food and artificial flavors has really messed up my health again. But I am dedicated to going back to Aaron’s dietary advice. In fact, I am doing it now and can’t wait to get into my gorgeous size 6 again and jump around with my dog. I think Aaron should write a book on his amazing diet/health journey!

Aaron, this is so inspiring; to be honest I’ve been overweight for years. I act like it doesn’t bother me, but it truly does. I’m 20 and short as hell; I should not be at the weight I’m at now. I’m hope that the “Goodwin Way” will lead me down the road of success. <3

Hi Aaron. Congrats on your weight loss. The transformation you’ve had from beginning to end is amazing! I’m a small business owner and a mom, so I’m often on the GO. I’m really trying to break the habit of eating fast food or even low calorie snacks with sugar. I try to grocery shop with healthy food alternatives in mind but sometimes it’s difficult or overwhelming with all the choices available. Can you give us an idea of what’s typically on your grocery shopping list? Thanks!

Awesome advice! I am a former military wife, my husband has since gotten out of the military and I have to say that when he was deployed we ate pretty much garbage and it showed. During the last deployment, I reached my largest size and my body felt it. Not only was I tired all the time but I felt horrible. I didn’t want to get out and do things with my kids because I felt like crap all the time. When he came back, we didn’t really change our diet much and it showed. He gained weight and I gained more. Recently, we went through a financial crisis (where he couldnt find a job) so we had to cut back our spending a lot and first to go was fast food and a lot of processed food. It’s just better for you if you make it yourself.

Now I make most of our food from scratch. The kids actually love it. My daughter will proudly tell people that she had homemade bread and her mommy made her sunbutter from scratch (she has peanut and nut allergies). It’s actually not that hard and doesn’t take much time. I even make my own yogurt. I notice how much better I feel and my kids are much more mellow and well behaved than when they were eating junk. My husband cut out majority of the sugar in his diet and between that and not eating fast food, has shed 70lbs. He’s also more active than he used to be. I personally have lost 2 sizes and I’m trying for more now that I’ve added excercise in. We eat more salads, our favorite is a coleslaw thats made with fruits and veggies and dressed with lemon juice and lemon zest. And instead of having family movie nights, we go out and do things outdoors, trips to the park, fishing, etc. I’m even trying to get my self in good enough shape to attempt “The Dirty Dash” in August.

Thank you so much for sharing your story. Changing your diet is not that hard and doesn’t have to be expensive and you feel so much better in the long run!

Btw, majority of the corn in the US is genetically engineered. So I’m not surprised you have a hard time with it.

Kristi

And can I just say that I appreciate your show so much. It takes a lot to do what you guys do. I’ve had experiences with the paranormal before, particularly demons and they are no joke. It’s actually my coming to Jesus story, but that’s long and I’m sure you don’t want to hear it. 😉

I lost 25 lbs in 3 months simply by stop drinking soda pop, and eating potato chips. Once the weight dropped off, I was able to move better and am getting more exercise as a result. I now eat peeled raw carrots for something crunchy, there’s some pretty cool designer carrots that are Red and White besides the Orange, as well as unsalted trail mix with fruit. Lose the potato chips, aka starches, potatoes, pasta, bread and you’ll lose more. I’m guilty though, I’m still eating potatoes, pasta, and bread, but in a more limited fashion. Yogurt is very good for you! Yogurt replaces necessary digestive enzymes, and it boosts your immunity and reduces the chances of illness. If you get sick, you’ll find eating a ‘course’ of yogurt, a course, meaning like a prescription, will help replace those digestive enzymes and make you feel better.
Keep up the good Work Aaron, you’re looking good and I’m sure you feel better, but try not to overdo it. I used to be vegan, and I damaged my health, I became emaciated at the time. It was hard going back to eating meat but it was a necessary evil. As they say, everything in moderation.

Hi Aaron,
I am a huge fan of your show and could not help but notice the dramatic change in you. Thank you for explaining your transformation on this open forum for all your fans. I commend you for making healthier choices, that isn’t easy in our western society where fast food and convenience food is the norm, and it is everywhere so it really takes a strong will to resist it. I really admire your show and what you do. You have a very likable personality and your antics and expressions and reactions on the show have made me smile time and time again. To be honest I thought you were cuter with a few more pounds on you, but that isn’t meant to discourage you in any way – just be healthy and happy and do whatever is right for you.

I agree with you 100% about the chemicals in our food – some documentaries I’ve seen that really opened my eyes were Food Inc. and Weight of the Nation. Most recently they are talking about the genetic mutation of our wheat, so now it isn’t even real wheat anymore, it is ‘franken-wheat’ and it does a number on our blood sugar – which explains the obesity and diabetes epidemic in North America right now. Personally, I have done a lot of research on it all and it is really disappointing to me that we are raising our kids in an environment like this. Natural is good but it is expensive and hard to find. Our grocery shelves are stocked with processed crap or pesticide covered produce, even if we don’t eat fast food, it is hard to find anything that is truly good for us anymore. The problem is the industrialization of food production. The problem is that we put business and profit ahead of our own health. Fact is everyone should have access to healthy food – it should be a basic human right. We need to tackle unhealthy foods the way we conquered cigarettes. They need to be hidden and hard to find and expensive! That’s my two cents. I just want a healthier world for my kids to grow up in. But now that I have gone on and on, I better stop there. I sincerely hope you have the chance to read this. 🙂 All the best to you and the GAC. Love you guys!!!!

Aaron,
Just wanted you to know that I thought you were hot then, and I know you are eating right and kudos for loosing weight! Any girl would be lucky to have a guy like you! You have a sense of humor for sure! 🙂 And you take care of yourself. Either way, whatever make you happy my dear! Keep up the good work! I ordered a calendar and can’t wait to receive it. I wrote in your guestbook and I hope YOU have time to read over it. You seem like one of those people that enjoy making others happy. You guys should come back to KY…not to Bobby Mackey’s, but to the William Whitley house. There is a lot of history, though it is small, I’m sure it’s filled with the paranormal. I investigate on my own..that’s how small my town is! LOL! Everyone thinks I’m weird because I love doing this! You should check it out. Hey..Bobbys didn’t let GAC down, nor did Waverly..so, take a gander! (Sorry for my country slang)! LOL!
Anyway, I’m glad that you are happy with yourself, you should be with all that you have accomplished!
BIG COUNTRY STEPPIN!! LOL!

I really admire you. When I was in college in the med to late 90’s I lost 100 lbs doing the near exact thing you did. Have kept the weight off for over 16 years and the trick is sticking to it, but also letting yourself have a splurge day once a week to keep from feeling deprived. I hope more people can follow a similar path!

Know it’s not me, you’re directing this question to, but I have the same problem, and I have found the solution – maybe it’s worth a shot for you.
(Sorry for the measurement used and the spelling). 1 dl Oatmeal 2,5 dl water and just a pinch of salt, warm it up and when it has the right texture (porridge) you can eat it – it’s amazing in the morning, keeps you full for a long time and doesn’t make you sick :).
You’re body needs energy in the morning -(preferably within the first 2 hours you have been awake) to start the metabolism – if the oatmeal doesn’t work, then a glass of water with lemon or green tea will have the same effect on your metabolism.
Good luck :).

Aaron – I have been preaching this to people for years! All the processed food with all their additives and preservatives are making people sick. Another thing that you can do (at least when you are home) is fix smoothies and mix in Chia Seeds. Chia seeds are FULL of nutritional value. You have to soak them in water for a few minutes before you add them to your smoothie, but it is so worth it. I am sure I could talk to you for hours about food and diet, but I know you are a busy man! Take care of yourself and congratulations on your progress! You look great!

Wow! Great post Aaron. You have inspired me to get healthy again. After I graduated from college and went to work in an office, I sat at a desk 7 days and week for 12 hours, eating anything just to stay awake and keep my blood sugar from dropping. But I ate all the wrong foods. The pounds snuck up on me and soon I was 35lbs over weight. But you have inspired me to get healthier and rat smarter. I am now working the 5k and on healthy diet. So thank you for posting this. With one big step at a time, the world can be a healthier place.

Good for you Aaron!! I know what it’s like to balloon up – happened to me after having a desk job and working nights for over 8 yrs. I have(had) type 2 diabetes, would eat fast food and take-out all the time – 4 years later I am down 145 lbs and am off my diabetic medications. I have done the low-carb – whole natural foods style, nothing processed. Like you said about thinking back 100 years at what people ate, cutting out all that junk has been a lifesaver – LITERALLY! Again, congrats on your accomplishment – it’s cool seeing someone like you help to inspire others!!

Aaron,

Congratulations on your weight loss!!! You are so totally weight about the fast food! I’m lucky, and I’m in Italy myself for about six months out the year. Then, I come back to the states and I CAN’T stand to eat the fast food! It’s so disgusting to me now! The food over there is to DIE for!!!

I’ve recently lost 30lbs myself, and I have another 30 to go. I’ll meet 20 of that in the next few months though. I’m working out myself six days a week, and I do Zumba, running, and sorta like an aerboic class during the week. I eat right, and I’ve got this far.

Thanks for being an inspiration to us all! I wish the best of luck to you!!!

Aaron, that was a cool story. I noticed a difference in your weight from watching Ghost Adventures. I started watching your show like a week ago on Netflix. My son said that ya’ll were on the Travel channel and I saw you just the other night. DUDE! Good for you! As I look down at my cup of coffee I get what you are saying. I need to cut it out or drink it black, maybe with just a touch of milk. I had baby number 4 a year ago but what so badly to loose the weight like NOW. I was even considering the HCG drops. Crazy I know. (500 calories a day, I’m cajun, I can not do that!! ) LOL, anyway, just wanted to say congrats, thanks for the inspiration. You are right, we are what we eat and we all need to chill out of fast food and stuffing our faces. I’ll give the black coffee a go in the am and see what happens. I already gave up fast food so I’m on the right track. Good luck with the show( GA) too!!! I’m finding that the more I watch, the more I have experienced the same things!! YIKES!

Thanks for this Aaron. I’m 33, a type 2 Diabetic, infertile, and 120 lbs overweight (aka morbidly obese) This definitely isn’t the heaviest I’ve ever been. I have lost 12 lbs in the last year and down nearly 40 lbs from the worst I’ve ever been, but I’m sick and tired of being fat, sick and tired and I had the same ideas you expressed here. Aaron, Thank you for posting your story. I have been in and out of weight watchers and many diet programs and failed them all. I actually lost 61 pounds 2 years ago with weight watchers but gained it all back when I got my heart broken by this guy I met after falling asleep behind the wheel coming home from my nursing job. I see patients like me that are big too and have all the medical issues with it. I know I need to stop the fast food and the binge eating and emotional eating, but your story gives me hope that things will work out. I just got evicted from my apt, and in about 7 weeks I am leaving Florida and moving back to NY to be closer to my family which my sister is also struggling with her weight. We plan to be support for each other. Thank you for your inspiring story, for just being the awesome person that you are. I hope I am blessed one day to meet you and the GAC crew. Right now things are hard ,but just seeing you on facebook and on GA makes me smile and happy. Now when I want to eat when I am sad, scared or whatever, I will think of your story and see what other options are out there. (you mentioned the gas station) Thank you and god bless you. xoxoxooxoxx Keep Smiling!

First and for most it is so AMAZING how much we can learn and gain when we use self control. Even though it is tough and very tempting especially when you have a consistent pattern of eating. I myself have been trying to lose weight for 8 years now, after having my 2 kids very young the second one took a toll on me not to mention every day stress of being a single parent juggling school and work. I have tried everything from Crash diets to weight loss pill to working out, I hate working out I just can’t keep myself motivated long enough to do it so I walk every chance I can get I walk from my house to the queen mary once a week it’s about an hour walk but I do this. as far as eating goes fresh Ingredients are a big key also anything and everything natural. nut’s are a good source of protein and I have been told RAW nuts are the best for you. cutting out sugar is good but alot of food has sugar in it already if you do want sugar a diabetic sugar substitute is good and also better, Bake everything Fish, Chicken, ect. any meat you cook either buy skinless or take skin off because that is where all the fat is. Grapefruit is good to break down food, one half of a grapefruit a day is really good, Milk, cut it completely everyone says you need your milk drink milk daily, well if your buying milk and you like whole milk ( red cap) it is pure fat! I was told my a doctor that the best milk for you is Lactose free milk, any soy based milk there are plenty to choose from, person best is ( coconut soy milk OR the almond vanilla soy milk)..

All in all I am glad you shared your weight loss with us Aaron, some people don’t have weight loss mentor’s and the extreme weight loss we seen from you is proof it is not impossible but will power. So in closing THANK YOU AARON!! if you can do it we can do it!! <3 you really are an Amazing person! 🙂

Before people go and think they should weigh a certain amount or lose too much weight in their target goal, please take a look at this chart, there are many you can find on the internet and this is the one the US military goes by for weight standards. Being too skinny is just as unhealthy and dangerous as being too fat, thats a FACT.

Thank you for posting this Aaron. You could really see your weight loss in your latest GAC episode The hellfire caves. That episode was awesome by the way. I have been struggling with my weight too. Before I fractured my hip this last winter . I did it by shoveling snow from my drive way of all things. 🙂 I was at 260 and I’m 5ft 9. I had to spend 2 weeks in the hospital and 3 months not being able to use my right leg and could not drive. I was able to drop 20 pounds by eating lots of cereal and yogurts. Not being able to go out for soda, junk food or fast food also helped big time. My food portions were also controlled because it was painful for me to get around back then. I am all healed now. I am still trying to eat less and when I do eat out I get a baked potato with a meal and only occasionally get the fries . I still get my yogurts that I eat at night when my junk food cravings hit. The big thing I am struggling with right now is my craving for mountain dew code red. So far I have been able to resist it but it is tough. I still have a mt dew at a restaurant if they have it . Right now I am able to maintain my lost weight. I hope to loose more but it is difficult. It is really awesome to see how you can go after the ghosts now like Zak and Nick It has been fun to watch you be able to hold your ground to them now. You have come a long way from season 1. 🙂 One day I hope to get out to Comic Con to meet you guys. One day I hope to get out to Vegas too. That must be an awesome place to live. Keep up the great work.

I love that you wrote this! I am right there with you! First I removed High Fruitose Cornsyrup from my diet and changed my sugar into steeva (south american plan that’s a sweetner). Those two things dropped 25lbs off me. Then I investigated some pesky food allergies and found I had a few that helped. (Gluten allergy bleh.)

I’m still a work in progress like we all are, but it’s inspired to have you share with us what you did to loose weight. It’s not an easy proccess. We’re such a seditary culture anymore. Most of our jobs revolve around sitting at desks. So small changes are awesome.

I eat homemade gluten free pita bread as my main bread staple now. It sounds weird, but it’s versital and I can still have it. Makes rockin’ pizzas and sammaches! Omg and low fat sargentos cheese! Heck I even have healthy Mac n Cheese a recipe I made up so I can still have it but it has less calories plus flax seed meal in it for digestion and omegas!

Changing how you eat is changing how you think. 🙂 You’re proof of that! Thanks Aaron you’re an inspiration!

First off Congrats on your weight loss people don’t realize that self control and moderation are key in weight loss! 🙂 Now to my story to you and others reading …. I am 5’8″ tall and at my heaviest I was 242 lbs. and totally in denial about it until my doctor recommended that I lose some weight and then it hit me like a ton of bricks……. I was FAT!!! Now that I finally recognized the problem… time to change. I started drinking diet soda and eating half of what I normally did at meals now 2 years later I’m down to 176.3 lbs. 😀 My weight loss has kinda tapered off now and staying around 175 so i am going to take your advise and cut out sugars all together and hope I’ll keep losing. My goal weight is 140lbs! ~fingers crossed~ Also thinking about quitting smoking wanna try the e-cig.

I notice that sometimes thing get real scarey. The thing is that what your chasing is never people that walked the earth. But they are always demons. Even the ones that seems nice, and even the ones that sound like children. And there is a way to scare a demon. Infact they will tremble in complete fear. I only want to help.

You look great. I need to lose 40 lbs. but want to lose 55 lbs. I’m 5′ 7″ and weigh 181. All my weight gain goes to my mid section. I have no energy anymore and now have back problems. You r an inspiration. I did have McDonalds breakfast with my son this morning….but plan to start my diet tomorrow. You made me realize that I don’t have to do some crazy ass diet….I just have to eat healthier and smaller portions. My big problem is ice cream. I guess I can have frozen yogurt once in a while. Thanks for sharing your diet with us. Again….u look great. Keep it up 🙂

Congrats on your weight loss!!! I have begun my life long journey to healthy eating and living! Lived with an eating disorder all my life but I won’t go into details about it. Never been one for fast food or fried food and my cholesterol has always been really low.I try to watch any soda and sugar and carbs and eat lots of fruits and veggies and drink crystal light. But I’m working on it!!! It took all these years to put it on and it will take a lifetime to lose and keep it off.I started my journey in late December and have since lost 20 lbs. but a lot more to go but i’m thinking positive and praying and thanking God for being there and seeing me thru. It’s really hard because you need food to live unlike street drugs or alcohol and the like. But before and after your weight loss I still think you’re handsome and sexy!!!!

I totally agree with your diet plan Mr. Aaron! Coming from a family of big and tall women, I finally decided to get ahold of this weight thing and traveled up to UWMC in Seattle,WA re: lapband… one of the people that’s part of my “team” from there is my wonderful nutrisonist, who basically laid down the same plan you have described and I too have lost 50+ lbs just on my own! *high 5-ing you* GREAT JOB AARON! <>

First off, Huge Congrats on the weight loss! You look amazing(as always ;)).
Second, I know exactly how hard it is to lose. And you are so completely right on about sugars and the crap that passes for food in this country. Sugar kills me anymore. I used to think the caffine I was drinking was what was making me feel bad and aggrivate the TMJ that I have, but I finally realised it was always the ridiculous amount of sugar that I was consuming. I rarely drink soda anymore and on the rare occasion that I do…it wrecks my stomach, makes me nauseous, I end up with a continuous headache for anywhere from 1-2 days straight and my TMJ acts up so bad my entire jaw hurts for a day or so(which is when I turn to ibuprofen lol).
You are really right on with everything that you mentioned and I’m so glad you decided to let folks in on the tips to your success with it. I’ve lost over 70 lbs myself and it wasn’t easy, but people just need to know that it’s all about retraining yourself in regards to your eating habits, adding some stretching and movement to your life, and cutting out the crap that you already know you don’t need. I fully believe that the biggest reason people “can’t” lose weight…is because of all the excuses they make not too ;). If I can do it, ANYONE can LOL.

Aaron,
Thank you for giving your humble advice. It says a lot about your character. I wanted to know why your weight decreased to drastically. Usually the camera adds weight … not in this case.

I would like to make one suggestion. Since you are in the public’s view, please remind readers to consult a doctor before going on diets or drastic lifestyle changes that can affect one’s health positively or negatively. Fans “eat-up” whatever you do or say. You might not ever be held accountable for an accidental death, but you never know what people will do.

BTW, you look healthy, wealthy and wise. Well done.

Take care,

I have a condition that most foods irritate my bladder. I cant have fast food, soda, processed food etc. However this condition causes a lot of pain especially with activity my back and hips hurt my nerves are all messed up. My point is diet is awesome, but you have to get up and move to get results. Ive been on this diet for a year but I dont lose weight, when I was working I stayed a normal size and I am not that overweight only about 20lbs more since I cannot work, and can barely walk to blocks to our mailbox. You dont have to go crazy at a gym, you just have to move even just walking will help on this diet Aaron is on. And Aaron you look awesome.

Hey Aaron,

This is so great! Thanks for sharing!

It’s always great to see celebrties of all levels back up healthy ways of living.
Everything you’ve said about giving up sugars and keeping everything as close to its natural state as possible is indeed the key to healthy living.

If you want to take your healthy lifestyle a step further, please watch ‘Fat Sick & Nearly Dead’, a documentary on Netflix. I watched it, tried the reboot, and have never felt better.
Watch it and let me know what you think 🙂 Joe Cross can be found on facebook too. He posts tons of videos, tips and tells you where he’ll be for Q&As and in-person screenings of the documentary.

Good luck and keep up the healthy living… it only gets better from here. 🙂

Congratulations on your efforts for the weight loss! I watched my dad nearly kill himself on junk food for years until he ended up in the cardiac unit. I have to agree with cutting down on portion sizes and cutting out the junk foods and fried foods. I lost 35 lbs due to dietary changes and giving myself the choice of either dropping over in a diabetic coma or making a bunch of changes for the better. I think you’re on the right path and hopefully more people will be inspired by your success!

Hi Aaron

Very nice job changing your eating habits, I know it’s not easy! I think you are completely right that, at the core, what healthy eating (and living) takes is discipline. I recently got into yoga and it takes a lot of discipline to do the poses and work through the discomfort but holy cow does it lend itself to the other parts of your life. From the discipline that I have to employ while doing yoga, I find its much easier to have discipline over my eating habits- especially when it comes to eating late and choosing healthy options when fattening ones are right in my face. You’re doing such a great thing for yourself and I appreciate that you want to encourage others to do the same 🙂 Best of luck with your continued healthy lifestyle and of course, your awesome show 😀

First of all I want to thank you for sharing your weight loss story with all of us. You are an inspiration !! I so deeply want to lose 50 pounds but every time I try I get very frustrated as I dont see results fast enough, so I give up. I do have one question …… I know you mentioned the things that you have cut out of your daily meals, but what types of meals do you eat ….. like for breakfast, lunch and dinner . Just looking for some examples of what to make …..

Thank you again and congrats …… you look fantastic !!

Aaron,

Just reading the first part of this entry made me think about a documentary called “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead” about an australian guy that moved to America and got really fat. Then he lost a ton of weight ‘juicing’. Basically, all the guy did was drink fresh fruit juice from a machine that puree-d the fuit on the spot. He lost close to 150 pounds in 3 months! I’m a gymnast, so I eat like a pig to survive 4 hours of tumbling and backflips on high beams everyday but I think you’re really awesome and your vlogs are hysterical. “If someone’s knocking on your door at midnight, you’re angry, but if they have cookies, how can you be angry at that?” hahahaha Aaron you’re cool beyond measure.

Hey Aaron,
Great advice man! I did notice especially last night just how thin you were looking and I thought, Damn, Aaron must be working out or something. You look great! I am a mom and like many first timers I basically focused on my son (which you’re supposed to do LOL) and eating what was easy and when I could. My weight got out of control! And I have a bone disease, which made it even worse!

Well, long story short, I posted some pics of my husbands birthday and was SO EMBARASSED at how bad I looked! I love my son and my husband, and damn it I wanted to be proud to take pictures with them and wanted them to be able to look back and say, “Your mom was a MILF”. And I no longer felt pretty, living in sweatpants will do that to a girl LOL.

Now, I’m back in most of my jeans from before I got pregnant and walking four miles a day (which I hated, now as long as I have my ipod I just love!) And my clothes are fitting AWESOME. I eat yogurt like it’s going out of style, avoid soda, drink water like a fish, avoid fast food (unless it’s a treat), black coffee only in the morning, ect. And a great side effect, I DON’T HURT and will be going on my first ghost hunt since before my son was a thought!

Thank you for posting this, so many people need the motivation and just can’t do it! They work on it for a couple of weeks and then give right up. It’s not easy, but damn it, in the end, it’s so worth it! Keep working on it Aaron! And enjoy it!

That is so awesome Aaron! First, I want to say you always look great anyway. =P I’m currently on a diet where I eat no sugar foods, no fruit, no carbs (no bread or flour products), no corn products, and only certain veggies. So far I have lost 5lbs every week! In about a month and a half I have lost about 25lbs! I haven’t eaten fast food since I don’t know what is even in the stuff I CAN have, so mostly it is salads, meats, cheese, some veggies, sugar free juices and tea (just using Splenda), and stuff like that. After about two weeks I already noticed my appetite was going down, and now after 1 and 1/2 months my appetite is so under control and I know the size of my stomach has shrunk because it takes so much less to fill me up when eating. And now its not like I look forward to being able to eat, I have to actually remind myself to eat because I will forget because I won’t even be hungry, but you can’t skip meals or your metabolism will slow down and you don’t want that. On this diet I burn fat 24/7 as long as I stay on it. I am happy for your success and I hope to have a great success too!

I realize I’m quite late to comment on this, but I just had to tell you that this is definitely my favorite healthy eating related post I’ve ever read! My mom has been the leader of Weight Watchers in my small hometown as long as I can remember, so I’ve pretty much been following it my entire life. Sounds like you’re making all the right moves! Love what you said about the difference in the popular processed foods of America and wholesome foods of countries like Italy. If more people had your mindset, we would be a much healthier nation! You are such an inspiration!

Congrats on the weight loss Aaron! I’m getting ready to start my journey and eating healthy. A few years ago I did great and lost 50 lbs and ended up getting pregnant and gaining all of it back. I’m sick of being unhealthy and over weight. I couldn’t agree more with you on the fast foods. I get so sick every time I eat that crap. I think the hardest thing for me to give up is my latte’s, so addicted to them.

CONGRATS on living healthy! I did the same thing! Over the last two years I cut out fast food completely, after seeing super size me, and I changed my eating habits and portions and I am down a total 0f 70 pounds! It came off very slow but I never worried about it, I just wanted to feel healthy! I was 30 years old and told that I was in the beginning stages of heart disease, I had high blood pressure, bad cholestrol and acid reflux so bad I couldn’t sleep at night. I am the mother of 2 daughters and knew I had to step up and show them how to be healthy. Everyone asks me all the time what I did, what diet am I on, do I exercise and even if I have had surgery and I tell them I changed my lifestyle and eating habits. I do walk a little every day and the only time I use my exercise bike is on weekends when I am watching episode after episode of Ghost Adventures! Seriously! It feels so good to be healthy! Heres to BIG STEPPIN the healthy way! Much Love <3 Very Inspirational by the way!

I’m glad you’ve found your way to an healthy diet. I’m Italian, I’ve been in the U.S. and I was amazed by the huge portions and the endless list of ingredients on every box I could find at the grocery O_o Love GA, greetings from Italy! ^_^

Congrats on your weight loss! You set a great example to others who struggle with weight issues by eating right. Perhaps if others followed your lead, we could start to reverse the unfortunate high rate of obesity and diabetes which is plaguing our country. You are right, too many of our foods are WAY overprocessed. The chemicals (yes, including high fructose corn syrup) in our food supply are poisons. More Americans need to control what goes in our food, and this starts by saying “no” to the many artificial preservatives, colors, enhancers, etc. that pass for “food”, and “yes” to natural alternatives. Cutting out simple carbs (white sugar, white flour, white rice, etc.) goes a long way in weight reduction, and is supposed to help reduce triglycerides.

Aaron, you are so right. Dorito’s are sooo good, but they’ll kill you in the long run. Just stay away from the “processed” foods. I agree, for the majority of the week, stay on track, but it’s OK to stray for a day or two. The key is to just stay focused & you’ll feel alot better! And stay away from SUGAR!!!

Just read what you posted about the weight lost, very cool and very smart the way you are thinking ! Mind over matter helps, too. But all in all just being wise the way you described it was the best way to explain something we should all follow if anything to just feel better and to be healthier. Keep up the good work ! You look Great but you looked good before also. Loved the comment, You are what you eat describing yourself as a nut, that was funny & cute. I must be one, too. I think that is a good thing ! Means you like to have fun. Nothing better than enjoying yourself & being a little crazy at times especially with friends. Take care.

We both run two restaurants in Marin County funny enough they are called Toast! with my husband as the head chef he is offering more healthy options. but with two restaurants
and two kids it seems like it
is being on the road. if you are ever back in town, hit us up and get a good meal at our restaurant.. on us! your a fun person who is doing a great fun job, we appriciate you, thank you again for letting us in on your personal life… a little .. haha:) and keep up the good work!!

Your positivity is so refreshing!! I made the same type of overall change to my diet over a year ago just because it suddenly occurred to me how much garbage I was eating and the fact that I was sick of feeling like crap. I went cold turkey on sodas, processed foods, and too many fats and made a total lifestyle change. It has taken awhile and there have been a few setbacks along the way but I feel so much better and am a happier person overall. Yeah, I still have a treat now and then but it is rare and I don’t crave sugar as much any more. Oh, and cashews, my favorite!! I keep a bottle of them in my bag at all times.

Aaron,
More folks on tv, such as yourself, need to take this type of proactive stand against crap food and eating right. You look great (you did before!) but being trim is healthier and you feel better.

I just wanted to say that I agree with you, as I don’t eat fast food, nor do I have a pantry full of chips and all that crap anymore either. Thank you for being candid and sharing.

You show is great by the way, unfortunately, if more folks turned off the tv and got active, our country would not be so overweight! Keep up the good work and be careful out there… Thanks to you and Nick and Zach for making us afraid to sleep at night! Take care…

Aaron, great job on the weight loss!! Life is too short to not live and eat healthy! Great tips in your blog- I love it! I also appreciate your honesty- especially about workin out- a lot of people don’t like to exercise- but if you just move – somehow- it’s good for your body!!:)
I am a nurse and would love to start a program like that one chef did on tv- start gardens- growing the food at elementary/highschools and having students learn about food-organic – then pick it, cook it- and feed it to each other- we all need to teach each other and learn from each other that processed food is bad for you! Thanks for the blog- great info and very inspirational!!!! 🙂 wish you could help me start some kind of program for kiddos to have gardens at ALL SCHOOLS 🙂 that would be cool!!!!

Hey Aaron,

I just wanted to say congratulations on your weight loss. You are so right, it really is as simple as changing your diet. Beginning to substitute healthy choices instead of bad choices, like fast food can make all the difference. If everyone would just substitute more fruits, vegetables, nuts & seeds, and grains into their diets, we could all live better healthier lives.

I also completely understand what its like to be on the road and to have a hard time finding healthy choices. I almost always have to stop at a gas station, but rather than getting chips and candy, I grab some fruit and unsalted nuts. It really makes all the difference!

Goodluck with the rest of filming and I’m happy that you’re making great food decisions now 🙂

It’s great that you lost that weight and feel healthier. Fast food is really bad for us I try not to eat it I cook all the time. What would the world do if for 1 day they shut all the fast food joints down haha that would be funny:) I myself turn to yoga because it disciplines and centers yourself, plus you slim down at the same time. Keep up the great work!!

Hey Aaron, I have to give you props, I am extremely overweight, and I try to lose weight and nothing seems to work. I am gonna try and do some of the things you said. I don’t eat nuts, and really can’t stand yogurt that much, my problem is I drink way too much pop. I am addicted to Coke(the soft drink) lol. I think if I stop drinking that and drink water, I would lose some weight. I am not a big fan of flavored water or juices, but it is something I guess I will have to get used too. And as for the fruit, I can eat apples and maybe oranges but that is about it for the fruit.

I think its great! I also went over seas in 2007 and came home with the same conclusion.
I wasnt over weight but I definitely could eat healthier. I change the way I looked at food, keeping it simple like you said a 100 years ago we picked from a garden. In Italy many people still do this and I think its wonderful! Thats why the food there tastes so fantastic!! My family and friends love the food I serve now and I love to share what I have learned.

Thanks Aaron for sharing. I enjoy reading your blogs, always insightful, informative and just good stuff. Keep on Big Steppin! ~Drey

Good example for your young fans that follow the show– it’s very awesome you are so down to earth and communicate with your fan base as well. I have bookmarked your blog.

Aarron, To be honest I was a little worried about your wieght loss. It seemed sudden and that you have lost way too much. I was concerned that you weren’t eating. Now that you have posted this I am less concerned. It seems that you are doing all the right things and I applaud you! It isn’t easy when you first start but I agree it can be done. I am not a big person by any means….. I am at my heaviest (even with the pregnancy of 2 children) at 135 and I started to cut sugars from my diet as well. It is amazing the affect it has on the body when you cut it out. I don’t do fast food often but I am sure that it is more than enough. I want to thank you for posting and being an inspiration!!! Hugs!!

You mentioned corn in your blog. I too have issues with corn and I have noticed that anything that has high fructose corn syrup affects me the same way. That cuts out a lot of options at the grocery but I feel so much better not eating it. I have lost close to ninety pounds in the past year doing pretty much the same thing. I gave up all sodas that was the hardest for me but my body thanks me for it!

congrats aaron for losing all that weight!!! 🙂 everytime i watch a new ghost adventures i can tell that you lost a lost 🙂 and i know what you mean about fast food. i love fast food so much, but have been trying really hard to cut it out of my diet and eat better on the whole. i love the “eat this, not that” books. they have a lot of really useful information and healthier options for almost any restaurant.

right now, i’ve had to go cold turky on my fast food though. i just moved from west virginia to the dominican republic to work at a school and all they have is a mcdonald’s (which i hate) and a domino’s (which is AWESOME) so domino’s will be my bi-monthly treat and hopefully by the time i go home for christmas to visit my family, i’ll be slightly lighter than i was when i left 🙂

but keep up the good work aaron 🙂 you deserve some congrats!!! can’t wait for more gac!!! 🙂 .

That’s great. I went full vegan a couple of years ago and I do not regret it one bit. I now live by the 80/20 rule. I eat healthy for 80% and then eat whatever I want for the other 20%. It roughly equates to one day a week of eating whatever I want. This is a great balance and it works for many people.

Good for you Aaron! I too have noticed your weight loss and have wondered what you’ve been doing too be so successful! I’m glad to see you’re doing it the right way and not using some silly and unhealthy fad diet. I too have been making the change over to more healthy food. My secret is shopping at Trader Joes. They have awesome fresh fruit, veggies, and meat. Plus, even their snack food is made from quality ingredients so no MSG or high fructose corn syrup. Another reason I shop there is because nothing they sell comes from China, not even any of the raw ingredients they use in their packaged food. Aside from the political reasons as to why I don’t want to support China, they also have highly questionable quality control regulations that I’m just not willing to gamble my health on. There’s a few great cookbooks available that are geared specifically to TJs and a great website http://www.cooktj.com which has product reviews and user recipes. Keep up the good work and I can’t wait to see you on the new season of GA! Don’t worry about those cashews… They’re my fave too so I’ll be a nut right along with ya!

Aaron, you’re completely right.
Dude, I hate lifting weights and stuff, and I have a 6 month old baby. I have baby fat and all I’m struggling to lose, and I can’t always go walk, because it’s too hot in Texas to put the baby in the stroller, even before dark, and go for a stroll. It’s not realistic.
What IS realistic, is to stop grabbing McDoubles at McDonalds on the go. To stop eating all these snack cakes and junk. You’re so right bro. I like fruit more than candy anyways, cause when I eat candy it makes me feel fat. When I eat fruits, especially strawberries, I feel healthy. I am a sugar addict, so that’ll be something to work on, but I’m gonna follow you, eat better like you, and see if that makes any difference.
I weighed 207 before I got pregnant. Before I had Travis, I weighed 250+ I didn’t get weighed the week before I had him. Anyways, I lost 20 pounds in a snap, because I tried to breastfeed. Well, after 2 weeks, that didn’t work out, and I gave up on trying to exercise and eat better cause I was SO stressed as a new mom, and not having my baby’s father around. I’ve had a lot of stress since then, and I’ve come to realize, part of it is me being overweight. I probably weigh 250 again, because I’m stressed and when I’m stressed, I say, “oh well” about everything concerning me and focus on my son, which means I eat junk food instead of fixing a good meal, but that’s about to change.

Reading this has given me a new outlook on things, and you’ve inspired me to make small changes to make a big difference. Thanks bro(: You’re doing great, and keep up the great work <3

Arron first off I know exactly what you mean. I was let go from my job earlier this year, and moved back home. I stopped eating fast food like McDonalds, Burger King, Arby’s, etc when I moved back home, because it was nothing for me to work any where between 8-16 hours a day. I will still eat pizza like once a month. I have been eating a lot more salads, fruit, vegetables, etc… I was under 350lbs when I moved to my job 2 years ago, and with all the stress and what not. I ended up gaining A LOT of weight. Now that I am back home I’ve been losing weight, and I am back down around 400lbs.

I have been thinking doing what I was doing what I did when I was in college. Eat like 5-6 times a day, and run a 1/2 mile each day. I ended up losing like 50lbs in like 2 months doing that.

Yup bro. I lived 25 years in Europe, than i moved into the States few years ago, and i gained 50 pounds eating US food. I never before had more than 160 pounds. Now im 210. I really have trouble losing it. But i realized that when i pay attention what i eat i lose a lil bit of wait like 10 pounds. So im going back and forward in between 200 and 210-215. But back in Europe i never payed attention what and how much im going to eat. There so much chemicals in food here.

BTW we met at Tooele, Utah Haunted Hospital. (We had the same Walmart Special shoes lol) And I watched GA back in Europe before i came to States, I didn’t have a clue that im gunna meet you guys in person. But i did, and thats AWESOME! And yes I love cashews so that’s why I’m such a nut. lol
